Annual Ministries Report 2017

Showing Up, Stepping Up, & Looking Up

Annual Report 2017

Trinity CHurch Boston

For the parish of Trinity Church, 2017 will be remembered as a year of transition, as our leader, the Rev. Sam Lloyd, retired, and the parish began the process to find a new rector.  In his sermon on the occasion of Sam’s retirement, Bishop Gates exhorted us to “show up,” “step up,” and “look up” – and the people of Trinity have done so, as illustrated by the facts, quotes, and stories in this Annual Ministry Report.

With gratitude for all God’s goodness to Trinity in the past, and with confident hope in God’s guidance into an exciting new future, we are discovering the joy of where God is at work in us, with us, and through us.

"Dear people of Trinity Church: In the next year or so you will traverse an in-between time. Transition periods include bumps in the road. The parish and its splendid staff will need you, each one of you. Do not drift away, do not stay away. Don’t you dare! But show up; and step up; and look up, because the Spirit will come upon you, as the Spirit always does."

—The Rt. Rev. Alan M. Gates, Bishop of Massachusetts, June 18, 2017
